hey y’all!
Thanks for clicking the link wherever it is you may have found it. If we haven’t met, I’m Claire (she/her). I’m a writer, producer, performer, and applied theatre artist based in Brooklyn, NY. I write weird, hyper-specific, hyper-feminine plays about the things that scare me, haunt me, and excite me. Ideally I want the theatre-going experience to continue for hours at the bar afterward: in raucous discussion, in exponential friendship.
I also act in those plays— and plays other people write, too!
I have an affinity for independently produced work that expands traditional notions of who gets to participate in the art of theatre-making, as well as the places that process occurs.
I make theatre in bars, schools, restaurants, parks, apartments, in streets and museums— and yes, of course, in tiny black boxes.
I dabble in film and digital journalism, as well.
I was born in North Carolina and raised kind of all over but mainly in Kentucky. I believe theatre should be a widely accessible social resource and is essential for the health of our civil societies. I’m always looking for new projects and collaborators.
When I’m not making theatre, I’m working various thrive-ival jobs, swimming at the YMCA, making banana pancakes, or seeing theatre.
